Celebrating the Retirement of Abundio Garcia

After 37 years of dedication, Abundio Garcia is retiring as Villa Park Landscape’s very first employee. His hard work, loyalty, and friendship have been an invaluable part of our story, and we wish him all the best in his next chapter.

A Lasting Legacy

Every company has people who leave a lasting mark, and for Villa Park Landscape, few have done so more than Abundio Garcia. In fact, Abundio was the very first employee Javier and Jack hired when they founded the company back in 1987. Javier had already spent nearly a decade working alongside Abundio at another firm, and when it came time to build something new, he knew Abundio was someone he could count on for his work ethic, loyalty, and drive.

Few people leave a mark like Abundio. His dedication and reliability have shaped the company and the team around him. His influence will be felt long after his retirement.

The Early Days

Abundio started at the ground level—literally—pulling weeds on our very first accounts. But even in those early days, his “yes” attitude and willingness to go the extra mile stood out. As Villa Park grew, so did Abundio’s responsibilities. He was quickly promoted to Foreman, and within 10 years, earned the role of Supervisor. Later, he became an integral leader in our Inland Empire division, where he helped manage crews, support operations, and mentor countless team members.

For nearly 40 years, Abundio has been more than just an employee—he has been a cornerstone of Villa Park Landscape. His dedication, steady leadership, and commitment to excellence helped shape not only the growth of the company but also the culture we are proud of today. His career has been defined by humility and hard work, and we are profoundly grateful for the decades he has devoted to this organization.

Life Beyond Villa Park

As we reflect on his 39 ½ years of service, it is difficult to imagine Villa Park without him. While we are sad to see him retire, we are also inspired by the next chapter of his journey. Abundio and his wife will now dedicate their time to serving their local church and leading mission trips throughout Mexico. They are excited to spend more time with their children and grandchildren while continuing to live a life of purpose and service.

With Immense Gratitude

On behalf of the entire Villa Park family, we extend our deepest appreciation to Abundio for his extraordinary contributions, unwavering loyalty, and the legacy of leadership he leaves behind. His impact will be felt for generations to come, and he will always be a part of the Villa Park story.
